Proof Your Resume!

You’ve heard it a thousand times. Proof your resume! Proof your resume! Proof your resume! That means don’t stop with a quick scan. Search for typos. Turn on spellcheck. Look up words if you are not sure of their meanings. Don’t oversell your experience; list the duties you actually performed. Read every line for meaning. Make sure it’s clear and not overstated, too broad, or redundant. Then have another person proof it. This advice is not new but it’s amazing how many people don’t take it.
