Account Executive

Alex Postow was born to be in the staffing business and got an early start. “My first experiences in staffing were crawling around Ruthi’s desk before I could walk, and that’s just about when I decided to make it my career.”

“I grew up in Potomac, Maryland, but I'm a real Washingtonian! I was born right here in Georgetown Hospital and I'm back in DC now. I'm the youngest of three brothers so I can handle most anything. I grew up on a healthy diet of offensive music and crude language.”

When he was in high school, Alex began his career at RuthiPostowStaffing as a part-time administrative assistant. He is proud that one of his accomplishments from that period, a filing system, is still used by the temporary division today.

After high school, he balanced college classes, training as a light heavy-weight collegiate boxer, and attending death metal concerts, with his part-time job as a recruiter. It was while he was working part-time that he had an experience that furthered his commitment to this career. “I placed my first candidate, Aleshia. It was with a commercial real estate firm in Virginia. That was when I knew I was meant to be a recruiter. I got such a charge out of knowing I'd identified the match for both the candidate and for our client.”

Alex became a full time member of the RuthiPostowStaffing team in May of 2008. Having learned just about every job in the company, Alex focuses on the role he loves as recruiter and the account executive in the permanent division. “I love the feeling when I work with a candidate and a client and know I am making a difference to their success.”

List two significant days in your life.

1. One classifies as one of the worst days. I was 12. We had a fire in our house in Potomac and I was the one who started it.
2. Two of the most significant good days: the day I joined RuthiPostowStaffing full time and the day I placed Aleshia.

Who are your heroes? Ruthi Postow, Lyles Carr, and Paul Rothenberg are all exceptional professionals in the staffing business and they have all given their time to help me grow.
