The RuthiPostowStaffing annual scholarship to be awarded to a recipient chosen by Second Chance Employment Services
SCES is a non-profit organization that works to help victims of abuse gain financial independence so they can escape their abusers. SCES provides training and counseling, then help their clients find jobs.

“I never thought of optimism as a gift that could be taken away. A few months ago I met a woman who opened my eyes, Ludy Green, the head of SCES. I heard about women who had been beaten, who had lived in constant fear of the next attack, and were imprisoned there because they didn’t have the training or experience to support themselves—until they found SCES. I can't even imagine the feeling of hopelessness these women must have felt when they faced every day not knowing when a blow would come. I'm awed at the courage they had to walk away from their homes and whatever security they had. To wake up in the morning hopeful for what the day might bring is a great privilege. To be in a position to share our resources to help an at-risk woman gain hope is another privilege, and one I'm very grateful for.” –Ruthi Postow
